A BIT ABOUT ME
This image is part of a self portrait I painted. It is titled 'Wonder Woman'. As young girls we were told we could do anything when we grow up, we can be astronauts. What they should have said was, "You can be an astronaut...after you have done the chores."
Art has been a passion of mine since as long as I can remember. I am very fortunate to have been able to pursue this passion and make it my work.
Originally a Brisbane girl, I completed studies in Fashion Design when I finished school. I soon discovered a love for travel and left the sunny shores of Australia. My first stop was London for two years. A trip across the English Channel had me instantly fall in love with France. I knew then that Paris was where I wanted to be and made the decision to study art there. I spent four fabulous years doing this. A couple of years later and the urge for adventure was once again upon me. This time, it was Japan. It was there that I was truly able to follow my dream of being an artist. I spent ten years there, exhibiting in Japan as well as Singapore and Los Angeles. In 2002, I decided it was time to come back to Australia. With two young children, I chose Tasmania as the perfect place to raise them. Tasmania is still an inspiration after all these years.
'Wonder Woman', an oil on canvas taking a light hearted look at my multitasking, routine and sometimes exhausting daily life. I am pretty sure there are a lot of people out there who can relate to this.
